Madison County offers plenty of entertainment to keep you busy and having fun! From the fairgrounds, to festivals, bowling and movies – we’ve got you covered. Take a look at some of our most popular venues.

Madison County Fairgrounds

The Madison County Fair is the showcase of local entertainment, exhibits and competition. Each July they present the best the county has to offer at the historic fairgrounds, a 40-plus acre complex featuring modern and historic buildings. The very first fair of the Madison County Agricultural Society took place in 1853 – organized by a group of community leaders who wanted to focus attention on the fine livestock and products of the area.

London State Theater

This isn’t just any movie theater, it’s a step back in time! If you have not yet been to the London State Theater, definitely put this on your “to do” list. The State theater opened on December 25, 1936 with Joe E Brown in “Earth Work Tractors”. It stayed open until 2010 when it was closed because of lack of funds. In 2015, Rob Treymore, a previous Journalist, took ownership and invested thousands to revitalize this gem of a theater.

The London State Theater also serves food, wine and beer – straight to your seat, while watching your flick.
